The Parks Department requests approval to utilize GoMESA funding in the amount of $26,737 to purchase specialized electrofishing equipment. This equipment will allow department staff to conduct essential fish population surveys and efficiently remove invasive and destructive "rough fish" species within the lakes at Camp Mohawk, Resoft Park, Stephen F. Austin-Munson Park, and the Parks Department Headquarters. By acquiring this equipment and transitioning these resource management operations to internal personnel, the department will eliminate the reliance on external contractual services, thereby achieving significant long-term fiscal efficiency.
