Utilize Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (GOMESA) Funding for Emergency Structural Repairs (Hurricane Strap Replacement) at Quintana Beach County Park Cabinsend

body

The Parks Department requests approval to utilize GOMESA funds in the amount of $24,862.43 for critical structural remediation at Quintana Beach County Park.

Due to prolonged exposure to harsh coastal environments, the existing hurricane straps on four (4) park rental cabins have suffered severe corrosion, compromising structural integrity. To mitigate risk, safeguard county assets, and ensure public safety ahead of hurricane season, immediate replacement is necessary.

In accordance with County procurement policy, three (3) competitive quotes were solicited. Approval is requested to award the contract to LanMarc Construction in the amount of $24,862.43. Although not the lowest preliminary bidder, LanMarc Construction was selected based on superior material specifications designed specifically to withstand high-salinity coastal conditions, providing long-term durability and the best overall value to the County.
