Sweeny ISD would like to use the trail system at Hanson Riverside County Park, including parts of the Harris-Beal Backcountry Unit to serve as host for their Sweeny High School Invitational Cross Country race, the first UIL meet of the season. Sections of the Park would need to be temporarily closed off from the visiting public in order to preserve safety of the cross country race participants, spectators and members of the public from 7 a.m. until 12 p.m. for high school varsity and junior varsity runs, and then again in the evening on that day from 4 to 7 p.m. Public Schools located in Brazoria County and the surrounding region will be participating in this event. Sweeny ISD is providing event liability insurance and has rented the park's large pavilion for the event. The park will return to public access once the event is complete.

Clear Springs High School/Clear Creek ISD would like to use the trail system at Resoft County Park in Alvin to serve as host site for their annual UIL Cross Country meet. The park will need to be temporarily closed for that morning, 6 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in order to safely accommodate cross country race participants, spectators and members of the public. This UIL cross country race historically includes several teams from Brazoria County public schools. Clear Creek ISD is providing event liability insurance and will rent a pavilion at Resoft Park for the event. The park will return to public access once the event is complete.
