Operation Stonegarden Grant Renewal

Authorize the Sheriff’s Office to renew and apply for the Operation Stonegarden Grant for the second consecutive fiscal year made available through the Homeland Security Grant programs. If approved and awarded, funds will reimburse the Sheriff’s Office for overtime cost for employees participating in law enforcement activities such as, narcotic highway interdiction, human smuggling investigations, and other criminal activities with a nexus to the U.S - Mexico border. Funding may also include reimbursement for law enforcement equipment such as vehicles and license plate readers. This grant was originally approved by Commissioners Court Order H.2 dated April 23, 2024. There is no County match requirement.
Additionally, the Court authorizes the County Judge to sign all documents to effectuate application or receipt of this grant.
The Court further approves the attached Resolution regarding Operation Stonegarden.
