The Court approves the out of state travel for the Director of Public Health Services and Lead Epidemiological Investigator to attend the Association for Professionals in Infection Control (APIC) Annual Conference scheduled for June 15, 2026 through June 17, 2026 in Nashville, Tennessee.
This supports our role in staying up to date with current epidemiology and infection control practices and other aspects of infectious disease outbreak management. In-person attendance offers the opportunity to gain valuable insights and build connections with experts who may become important resources during future challenges, in addition to sharing knowledge and solutions for dealing with disease outbreaks.
Cost of the conference for the Lead Epidemiological Investigator is covered 100% by Department of State Health Services (DSHS) funds; cost of the conference for the Director of Public Health Services is covered by Travel/Training funds approved in the FY26 Brazoria County budget.
