Dedication of the Completed Firefighter Training Facility to the Brazoria County Firefighter's Association for the Public Purpose of Enhancing County-Wide Fire Protection and Training

The Commissioners Court of Brazoria County, Texas (the "County") finds and determines that adequate training facilities for County-wide firefighters are essential to the safety and welfare of County residents; fire departments throughout the County provide critical fire protection and emergency response services to Brazoria County residents; and the Brazoria County Firefighter's Association (the "Association"), an independent nonprofit organization, currently maintains and operates training facilities available for use by fire departments County-wide.
The County is granted authority under Texas Local Government Code (LGC) ?291.001 to provide and maintain necessary public buildings and facilities for County purposes; LGC Chapter 352, particularly ?352.001, to furnish fire protection and fire-fighting equipment or services to residents outside municipalities and to contract with incorporated volunteer fire departments or associations located in the County to provide such protection, with payment from the general fund or other authorized sources; and LGC Chapter 263, and related provisions, to convey interests in County-owned real property.
Pursuant to Commissioners Court Order No. I.10., dated July 12, 2024, the construction contract was awarded to Construction Masters of Houston, Inc Authorized funding for this project utilized funds from the United States Treasury American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF). Construction of the Training Facility, located at 40570 Firefighter Rd., Angleton, Texas 77515, has been completed and accepted by the County.
